Brownie Cupcake Fail

 I was inspired by Paula Dean.  I don't watch cooking shows like I used to anymore.  I get m inspiration from the Internet, friends on Facebook, Family and my 2 favorite cookbooks.  I just happen to record an episode and this is what she made.  Brownie Cupcakes with peanut butter chips in the  middle.  Sound yummy right?  i thought so.  Make the brownies as you normally would.  Fill the muffin cup 1/2 way then add some peanut butter chips.(I used swirled chips) 

 Add the remaining brownie batter on top and the let them bake.  Take them out of the oven and let cool.  Then you can enjoy your homemade goodness...or can you?

At first glance they looked amazing, a success!  Then the time came to get them out of the muffin pan.  Failure, indeed.  The bottoms stuck to my well greased muffin pan.  So I let them sit longer, still stuck.  Oh, well.  What can you do?  Even the most expert chef has their moments.  This was mine, LOL

Having a daughter is such a joy!

Who would have ever thought that after having 5 boys, that the Lord would have given us Abigail?  She is amazing!  She really is.  Any of you who have had a daughter after having boys know exactly what I mean.  Or even a boy after having all girls.  You can tell she is a girl by the way she plays and acts.  I just wish her hair would grow or wish she would keep her head bands on her head, LOL.  For Christmas my Brother and Sister-in-Law gave her a toy purse with some toys inside.  One being a  lipstick rattle.  I showed her how to use it and she does it all the time.  In the video she does it and it is so precious to me.  I am so thankful that God gave her to us!  The boys all love her as much as James and I do.

So...is it true that you will have bad or strange dreams when you eat alot before you go to bed?  Cause I just ate a MONSTER SUB!

Valentine's Day at our house (on video).

James gave me a digital video camera for a Valentine's gift.  I have wanted on for awhile now.  It is small like a phone.  Kodak makes it, the color is Raspberry.  Nice.  I am still playing with it to use it the right way.  The boys keep asking me to video them.  All they want is to see themselves.  Silly boys.  I gave James some new headphones for his X-Box.  He picked it out.  What do I know about X-Box?  Nothing.

It was a fun day at our house this year.  Since I am making new traditions for Holidays this year, Valentine's was my 2nd try at it.  It all worked out good.  I had 2 scavenger hunts for the boys.  They got a new game for the Wii and a coupon for a milkshake.  They love milkshakes!  James gave me a tulip plant.  I love tulips!  Had them in my wedding bouquet.  I love to get flowers but would much rather have something that lasts.  So a video camera and a tulip plant are perfect!

New Topics

          Wow!  With all the computer problems we have had recently I have been away along time from my blog. Since no one looks at my blog I know I was not missed.  boo hoo.  Oh, well.  I am back and have new ideas for my blog.  I keep changing things on here.  I need to concentrate on our homeschooling now so that is our new subject.  I will still add photos of our cooking and baking cause it is just so fun to do with my boys.  Abigail is only 14 months old so she just can't do anything buy play with the bowls and spoons on the kitchen floor while  we all bake.

HOMEMADE POPTARTS

 Mix together 3 1/2 cups flour, 1 tsp salt, 1 cup melted butter, and 1 cup plain yogurt.  Knead a  few times                                                   on a floured surface till it all stays together. 

 Get the cutest little boy you can find and have him help you roll out the dough and a well floured surface. 

                    Using a knife cut out to rectangles as best you can.  About the size of pop tarts. 
                                                       You should get 15-20 pop tarts.

   The recipe calls to use 1/2 tsp of jelly.  After enjoying one Cookie Dad & I agreed they needed more jelly.  So maybe a full tsp. would do it.  While making them I was thinking of the different fillings one could put in it.  Nutella?  Custard?  Peanut butter & jelly?   The possibilities are endless!

Find a top that is about the same size and place on top.   Seal the edges with a fork as you would around a pie crust.

                             Bake 350 for 25 min. or until golden brown.  Do your best to hold off temptation and    
                                                wait until cooled before enjoying. 

These were great for little helpers to help make.  Super easy and the house smelled so amazing!  You could freeze them and pop them in the toaster for breakfast, if you resisted temptation from eating them all.
