Target Deals

What an amazing time I had shopping at Target today. I stopped in before my regular grocery shopping and got lots of things for free. Yes, I said FREE.

On Facebook I found a page that is "Money Saving Mom" Each day she posts things she finds that cost little or no money. She lets you know of the deals at CVS and Walgreens.. Different online deals. Coupons from different companies. Today was a post about Target deals. So I looked into it and could not resist!

I printed out the coupons and had a big stack of them. I hopped they would let me use them all. Some people don't know that Target will let you use a manufactures coupon and a
Target coupon. So you get extra savings. I put all my goodies in my cart and went to the checkout line. The total came to $26.48. That is before the coupons. I handed her the coupons and she scanned all of them. Then my total was ...get this...$6.20! $6.20!

Here is what i got-

4- 8packs of juicy juice boxes for just .54 cents each.
4 microwave bowls chef boyardee - FREE
1 Aquafresh kid toothpaste .12 cents
2 Sobe life water- FREE
1 Wonka bar- .29 cents
2 pack bagel bites .24 cents each
1- 10 pack Bic pens red, FREE

There was more I could have bought or gained. but I did not want to buy it just cause it was cheap. I wanted to get things I used or needed. I think she has a blog I will look for the link and post it for you in case you want to look at it.

http://moneysavingmom.com/

It is not a blog but a website.

Hope you can get some amazing deals as I did!

What Silly Boys I Have

Tonight when the boys came home from church they told me they would be putting on a show for me at 8:00. They got together some musical instruments and began to sing "Jesus Loves Me" It was great! Even though they mixed up some words. That just made it funny. After that they sang and did the motions for "The Hokey Pokey" That was definitely funny cause Jackson joined them and had so much fun shaking his legs and arms around.

The last song was "Who is the King of the Jungle" You know the part where you spell out the name of Jesus and shout "YES"? Carter id something we laughed so hard at. Here is what he spelled, "G-E-F-U-S" Who was he singing about, i have no clue! We now have another great memory of Carter. He did not even know he did it. So silly!

It sure is great to have boys that are not boring. With dull days and the same thing happening each day these diversions are a blessing to be a part of. I sure am thankful to our Lord for my wonderful boys, whom I loved so much. Thank you God for them and our beautiful baby girl. Oh, love you to James, if it were not for you I would never have these 6 beautiful children! Thank you for working hard to keep us going.

Sick Boys

So the past 2 nights I have been awakened about 4 A.M. to the sounds of Jackson throwing up in his bed. What a gross mess for anyone to clean up. So, I guess Jamison didn't like Jackson getting all the attention so he proceeded to throw up as well. Why does it have to be so stinky and disgusting? Jackson's bed was so hard to clean up in the dark. Do I turn the light on and risk waking up the other boys in the room? Uh, no!

Just as I am cleaning up the vomit, here comes the runny stinky diaper mess. Come on! It's Sunday! I stayed home and worked more than normal mornings. I am so tired tonight! The boys seem to be doing alot better. They are a bit warm when I feel their foreheads. Jamison enjoyed a few games of Lego Batman alone while he stayed home. Jackson watched alot of "Cailliou". It is his favorite!

I sure do hope I get not surprise awakenings this evening! Pray I don"t.

More recipes

For dinner tonight we had another yummy one! I am not trying to make myself look good as a cook, just wanting to share somthing that our family enjoyed. I have made this before and was surprised how good it was then. I had all the ingredients on hand, just had to buy the ground beef for it. We have a neighbor a few houses down that gives us a few canned goods ocasionally. He gave us an ingredient and didn't even know it.

I found this recipe about 6 yrs. ago in a "Boxcar Kids" book. It is simple and so much better than the boxed version of it. Here goes...

HAMBURGER HELPER

1 pound ground beef
1 med. onion, chopped
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 T. parsley
1 clove garlic, minced
2 cans tomato soup
1 soup can water
1 1/2 cup elbows
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

cook meat with onion, add next 6 ingredients and mix well. cover and turn heat to low. simmer 20 min. pour into greased casserole dish and sprinkle with cheese. serves 6

If you try it let me know if your family enjoyed it or not. It is a budget friendly meal. Serve it with homemade biscuits and a green salad. That's what we do. Play around with it also. Add to it and let me know what you did to make it better!

Summer Fun

My Mother found a park not to many people know about and we went there today. Thank you ,Mother! We had the most fun and the boys can not wait to go back another day. We are going again on Wednesday. We are planning on going when they open at 10 A.M.

It is in Lancaster and it is surrounded by trees and tucked it a nice neighbor hood. It was so wonderful to get away from the city for a the morning. When we got home James took the 4 oldest to the pool while the other 2 took naps.

There is a hill at the park and they put down some plastic and made a water slide. That is what my boys loved. We were not prepared to get wet. I let them go anyway. Jackson even went down one time with Carter. I did not think Jamison, 4, would be brave enough to slide down. He showed me I was wrong and went down and down and down. I will take pictures when we go on Wednesday and then post them another day, so you can all see the fun.

I wish I was a kid again just to go down the water slide!

Sunday...the Lords day

We all go up late this morning. I had a hard time sleeping last night and James stayed up to late playing games on the X-Box. I went to bed at a descent hour just couldn't sleep good.

There is no post for Saturday. It was such a busy day. Very hot outside and when we went outside it was very windy. Not a good day for a full skirt! I had to use my hands to hold my skirt down each time i got out of the car. "Sorry boys, Mommy can't hold your hand."

We went out as a family and it was nice to be together, just not fun where we went. I promise I will never do it again. It was nothing wrong or evil, just I am never doing it again. We thought, actually James thought, it would be nice to do. He soon learned it was not a good thing. I warn him all the time about going out during nap time. I know how my children are when they go with no nap. All you Mom's out there can testify to it. Why does he not remember? They need naps for a reason. Same time everyday. Same children everyday. Now did you learn your lesson, James? Haaaa haaaaa

Today is Sunday and we left late for Church. We got to Sunday School when it was almost over and I had nursery. So, I felt as if I never was in the service. I really wasn't so that explains things. I did enjoy the nursery though. Not every baby was there and the ones that were there behaved very well. Even my little sweetie! She is so amazing, I love her dearly! Thank you God for our daughter!

I got a sweet tea at McD's on the way home. It was terribly hot and humid. I want our AC fixed in the car so badly! Maybe someday? I also want my dishwasher fixed, which will happen first? Any guesses? LOL

That is all for now, time to get the boys dressed for church.

Who knows what will happen tonight, something exciting maybe?

Fishing Fun

We had so much fun tonight at Walden Pond. It seems like every time the boys throw their rods in the water a fish is caught. The fish are still small, they just stocked it not to long ago. But they do not care! James even got a cat fish tonight. He was very happy about that one.

We just hung around and enjoyed each other's company after the worms were all gone. Quin and Kendall were poking a dead frog and have a blast doing it. Jackson wrestled with James in the grass and the laughter was great to hear. Carter and Quin practiced throwing a Frisbee. Jamison was a good boy today. He loves to fish. It is one of his favorite things to do.

Instead of grilling we brought the crock pot with BBQ pulled chicken. It was great! I just put a large package of chicken thighs in the crock pot during the day and when they were done, I shredded it and added the BBQ sauce. Had it on buns with a salad and cupcakes for desert. Good food, great fun!

Our dinner was great!

Wow! That apple pancake was sooooooooooooooooooooooo yuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmmmyyyyyyyyyy! Everyone ate it. You do not even need to put syrup on them. We had fruit with it and some sausage links. Oh, and ABC tator tots as hash browns. James gobbled those up. Next time I am doubling the recipe so I can have leftovers. After dinner we went to Burger King and got Icee's for $1. What a deal that is! It has been so hot they hit the spot.

Here is the recipe for the Apple Pancakes in case you would like to try them at your home.

4 eggs
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup milk
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 cup butter
2 med. apples, thinly sliced
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 tsp. cinnamon

Heat oven to 400 degrees F. Place 2 (9 inch) round layer pans in the oven. Beat eggs, flour, milk and slat in a small bowl for 1 min. Remove pans from oven. Place 2 TBS.butter in each pan, rotate pan and coat sides of pans. Arrange half the apples slices in each pan; divide evnely between pans. Mix sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle 2 TBS. of sugar mixture over batter in each pan. Bake uncovered untill puffed and golden, 20 -25 min.

Serve this piping hot from the oven. Serves 4

Let me know if you try this. I found this recipe on recipegoldmine.com . That is a great site that has tons of recipes on it. I have a link for it on the side bar. Happy cooking!

Apple Pancakes

I think it would be a great idea for me to delete all the photos on the memory card from our camera. All the pic's have been put on the computer. So if i want one printed i could just send it to Snapfish or CVS.

I want to take pictures of the food that I am making so you could all see it then form an opinion. The 7 up chicken was good. It was even better for lunch. It has a slight taste that you wondered what it was, then remembered the 7up. I would make it again, for sure. I do think my family, mainly my husband, is getting tired of me using the slow cooker so much. It is soooooooo hot out, why would you want me to turn on the oven to 350 for 25 min and make it hotter? You know how I get when I am hot!!!

If I do not get back tonight have a cool evening. We are taking the boys to Walden Pond again Friday night for some fishing. They are really looking forward to that! Plus I need to get to Wegmans tonight to buy something to take with us to eat!

Dinner

For dinner tonight I am making "7 up chicken' in the crock pot. I never thought of putting soda pop on top of a meat in the crock pot. I sure hope it is good, I have nothing on stand by and it is a church night. Here is the recipe in case you would like to try it.

6-8 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
2 TBS. butter
1 can 7 up
1 tsp. seasoning salt
1tsp. parsley flakes

place chiken in bottom of crock pot. Add butter.
Mix 7 up iwth salt and parsley. Pour over top of chicken. Cover and cook on LOW 6-8 hrs.

I will let you know if it turns out or not.

Church tonight. I sure would have loved a nap. Jamison fell asleep on the couch while I was making lunch. He only slept for about `15 min. and that is all he needs. He has breakdowns. I try my best to remain calm when he does but sometimes sending him to his room makes it easier for the rest of us. He gets so loud! Then I go correct him in his room. When he is happy and rested. It has been a tiresome week. Going to to the splash pad each day and the heat! Even Kendall has gone to lay down on his own cause he was tired.

Trying to make this pretty!

I have been working on making this blog pleasent to look at. I did a web search for bolg buttons and blog blinkies. I like the ones I have so far. I am still praying about what my content should be about. Should I just be about my famiy? What about sharing recipes? I like to share funny experiences, how about that? It could be all of that.

I watch the movie "Julie and Julia" agian. I sure do not have the time or ability to cook through a cookbook like that in a year. How about asking for help? I would love some help. I would like some help in my child rearing, my cooking, my time management, my time spent with God, and help to be a better wife. I know we all want that, ladies not you men. Well, whatever this ends up being it will be for fun and God gets all the credit. So keep coming back to see the changes and to read what this will be about! I hope you have a wonderful day, and remember God loves you!

Playing at the Splash Pad

What did we do this morning? We walked down to our park and splashed in the splash pad. It was fun at usual. There was no one there. The boys had it all to themselves. I love it when it is like that! Some young children showed up awhile later, so they had a few children to play with. They did not stay long so we had it to ourselves again.

I almost didn't want to leave when it was time to go home today. I really enjoyed the quietness and the beauty of the park. I wish I had brought lunch with us. Then we could have stayed longer.

James is takig the older 4 boys to the pool right now. I must admit, as much as I hater where I live, it is nice that we have the park at the end of our street. THey came home and had to change shirts. A new rule is "no shirt or a white shirt". You are wearing a shirt no matter what others are doing! "Why Mommy?" A lesson in keeping our bodies covered properly was learned today. Thank you Lord for my 5 boys, whom I love dearly!

Surprisingly enough, Jamison has been very good today. Each time he begins to act up I am right there saying something nice and giving him a hug. It seems to be working. Who knew? Carter has a problem with being really bossy to his brothers, any suggestions?

We are working on not tatteling in our home. I can not stand when any child does that! Unless they are in danger I do not want to be reported back as to what everyone is doing wrong!

Nothing happen today

We did not do much today so not much happen. I am making progress with Jamison and his temper. He spends alot of time screaming and yelling. Today there was an issue and he was crying so much, cause he got in trouble, that he was all red and sweaty. It took him a long time to calm down, but he did.

I took the boys to Caz. Park to play in a splash pad they have there. There was way to many people there to have fun. Quin didn't go play in the water until alot of children left. Jackson spent most of the time chasing the sea gulls. He loved doing that. Abigail was good as well. She enjoyed playing with an empty water bottle. (don't worry I took the lid off) She was happy as a clam! How can you tell if clams are happy? Oh, well.

We came home very late. Took naps. Then I went out grocery shopping. No one wanted to go with me today. All by myself! I stopped at 7-11 and bought a Slurpee. It hit the spot. It was a hot day in Buffalo. Target had some great deals on clothes for Abigail. That baby has more clothes than I do. That is so not fair! I wish I could get a shirt and skirt for $1.50! She is so easy to buy for. She never complains about anything I buy her.

James made dinner cause I came home late, cause I spent to much time at Target! Then he took us to 7-11 for Slurpee's. I got 2 in 1 day. Lucky me! Only the children who ate dinner got a Slurpee.(not Quin or Jamison) Sorry boys, ya gotta eat!

On Tuesday we are going to our splash pad if the weather is hot. When is it not hot now? Yikes, I love the Fall and Winter!

The Lord took care of us today, cause nothing happen today. We are all safe with no owwies. Did I spell that right? owwies? Is it a real word? Thank you Lord for keeping us safe and free from harm! You are always there for us!

Quintin says the silliest things!

After breakfast I asked the boys to do their chores. Off they ran into differnet directions to get the jobs done. Will it ever be quiet in this house with 5 boys and a little sister? Not until they are all grown. One of Quin's chores is to clean the bathroom sink. He comes out of the bathrrom with the bag of toilet paper. You know the 4 pack? It has 2 left in it. Quin says to me "Can I use these little paper towels to clean the sink?" How funny was that? I am glad God gives me these laughing moments throughout the day or I would never make it! Love you Quin!

Our drive home from Church

Our drive home from church tonight was a hot one. I can not wait to get the ac fixed in the suburban. Abigail slept most of the way home and they boys behaved for the most part. I so enjoy the car trips when I do not have to turn around and correct any of them!

When we arrived home Kendall said something interesting. He says to James and I "We played basketball with rollie pollies today in Children's Church." We smiled and laughed. I can not wait to tell the teachers and see what they say. This is typical of Kendall. He has a funny story just about everyday. This one will make his teacher laugh if they don't already know.

It's been awhile...

Well friends and family...

It sure has been a long time since I have posted anything new on our blog. Life went into crazy mode last July. This are somewhat normal now enough for me to begin again.

Where shall I begin?

We moved.

James got a good job. Not far from where we live.

We had a baby. Not just any baby though. A girl! Abigail Catherine was born on Dec. 14, 2009. I will talk more about her another time.

We began and finished another year of homeschooling. Not the best year but it is over. We may have an occasional day with a little review so they do not forget anything. They are boys mind you.

We are working on a budget with the help of my brother, Adam. It has made a great change for our finances. There is money in the bank for us to save for emergencies now! Adam has been a big blessing to us in that area. Heather married a good man!

We all love to go to church.

Did I say that yet? We all love to go to church each week! Kendall said our first service there " Can we come back next Sunday? I had fun!" I hadn't heard that from any of my boys in a long time. Our church has been a great blessing to us this last year! So many messages seemed to be preached to heal our broken hearts! Thank you Pastor!

Well, it is time to get everyone dressed for night church. I will post more at a later time. Maybe when the children are asleep this evening? Oh, wait, not tonight! "The Next Food Network Star" is on tonight. Monday, then! Ok, talk to you later friends and family!
